Band of the Week

I think one of my very first posts, yes here!, was about this band. And I have not stopped crushing on them since. They are still super cute, still putting out really lovely music and still making really cute retro cover art. BRILLIANT!
What I love at the moment, and why they are band of the week, is their amazing website. A totally unique experience Apparently, the date is 4th March 1984, and this gives you a pretty good explanation of what you are seeing. Retro American movie clips('Teens on the Town' reminds me of Saved By the Bell!), mismatched audio samples(which could be the beginning of songs in their own right!), and information about Condale, the Los Angeles suburb which lends its name to Summer Camp's debut album 'Welcome to Condale'. I honestly cannot do the site justice! It seems like the perfect embodiment for the perceived image of Summer Camp, creating almost an extension of their lovely blog
But, wonderful website aside, Summer Camp are more than aesthetics, although Elizabeth Sankey is more than enough aesthetics to keep me going till Christmas, never mind Jeremy Warmsley on top of that! They make some wonderfully uplifting tracks, and compliment eachother so beautifully. Listen to the track I cannot get out of my head right now, 'Better Off Without You', and don't forget to check out their website here
